(Los Angeles) July 8th From everyone here at Firepower Records and WAVO, we want to send a sincere thank you to those who participated in the “Katana” remix contest. There were over 250 submissions, and it was interesting to see such a variety of styles and skill levels, from the up-and-coming-producers to the established headliners. Much Respect!
And now the winner! Congratulations Cris Jarvis of Colchester, Great Britain! When trying to decide on the winning remix, we looked for unique ideas as well as solid mix downs. We felt that the Jarvis remix demonstrated both of these characteristics well, which is why we chose it as the winner.

Over the past month, Firepower Records and the Shambhala Music Festival partnered with Wavo to launch a special contest to see who can come up with the best remix of Datsik’s smash hit “Katana” off of his chart topping EP Down 4 My Ninjas.
The Shambhala Music Festival, one of British Columbia’s most beloved music and art festivals, is scheduled to take place August 7th through the 10th. The festival has always occupied a special place in Datsik’s heart; from BC himself, he wants to share the special experience that the festival represents. This remix contest is his way to give back to the scene that has given him so much.
Big shout out to Wavo and Shambhala Music Festival for helping us host this dope contest!
