Hailing from Switzerland, Rob Gasser has been a valued member of the Firepower Family for a long time, with numerous collabs and remixes with firepower artists like Chime, Prismatic, and Fox Stevenson, and his skullcrushing label release, Stars Fall Down,last year. With nearly a decade of consistent and disciplined music production experience, Rob Gasser’s sharp and technical sound is the work of a veteran fully in control of his skillset.
The first tune off of the EP is a collaboration with another Firepower Family member, The Brig, called “Delirium”. The track leads with a cheerful melody, offering the listening a soundscape like a digital dream. But as the drop hits, the dream ends and the headbanging begins. “Delirium” is designed to draw from the listener a disparate mix of emotion and then compound them all together with a heavy Bass breakdown. And it works.
“Banshee”moves in with a haunting and nostalgic take on an alternative Rock beat structure. Airy and ethereal, Rob Gasser sweeps us away only to slam us back down to the ground. A nasty Riddim section pummels the listener again and again, and it’s the type of punishment any serious basshead would welcome.
The single from the EP is “Hex”and it’s immediately clear Rob Gasser meant to wreck necks with this one. The cinematic sound design that blooms through the introduction brings the listener to a place of peace and calm. But he’s consistent with his production philosophy here, and as soon as the listener is comfortable simmering in the tranquility of the introduction, Rob Gasser rips us out of it. It’s exactly this kind of emotional experimentation that makes this tune so enjoyable. Play this out on a festival mainstage and watch your audience lose their collective minds.

The EP ranges widely across the bass music universe revealing this Chandler, Arizona native’s expansive creative vision. From deep experimental beats to potent rail smashers, Viperactive calls upon his experience as a Heavy Metal drummer and seamlessly engineers pulverizing beat sections and sweeping cinematic soundscapes into his tunes. The result is a diverse arsenal of battle tested dance floor weapons.
“Backfire”and “The Haunt”both open up to an emotive melodic soundscape, but, as the drops hit, it’s clear Viperactive intends to push his experimental bass chops to the limit. These tracks expertly balance the euphoric with the ominous and become clever choices for any DJ looking to rearrange the collective consciousnesses of their audience.
“Get Yeeted”sets the tone with a haunting piano arrangement that is as foreboding as it is intoxicating. Viperactive injects this tune with a hardcore BPM making this tune a massive crowd igniter. But in a stroke of production genius, he also constructs a seething heavy bass section which reorganizes the vibe and contributes the track’s tricky experimentalism.
“Fallout”goes all in by pushing a scorching wall of sound through the track. A Riddim-based beat smashes along without remorse and Viperactive engineers another one of his menacing melodies over the top. As the EP comes to it’s close with “OG”we are treated to all the ferocity Viperactive has in his arsenal. A piercing synth scorches through the track and the audience is pummeled with a filthy bass-heavy beat that will rattle the teeth from your head. This EP is a must-have for the dark days of the oncoming Fall and Winter festival season.

]]>Opening up the project, Audiowrx links with Born I for their collaborative piece, ‘Push.’ The Track kicks off with an intriguing introduction, with Born I’s vocals luring the listener right into banger territory. ‘Push’ quickly sinks its teeth into you with a spine-tingling drop and flexes a thumping bassline. With a second drop that arrives with a vengeance, this track will undoubtedly keep the dance floors poppin’ everywhere it’s played.
Switching things up a bit, FREPZ jumps in with his track, “From U”.Easing in with a euphoric introduction and blissful vocals, “From U” has the listener feeling carefree in no time. Since stepping onto the world of electronic music in 2013, Prismatic has taken the scene by storm with his diverse style and progressive approach to production. Keep your ears locked on Prismatic as this year is already shaping up to be his best yet.
The project opens with title track, “Champion,” and welcomes listeners with a high energy melodic introduction featuring an upbeat bassline. It’s clear that “Champion” is a heater! Flexing on a wonky drop paired with a catchy vocal sample, this one is meant to keep it rockin’ from start to finish. The second drop pulls out all the stops and is sure to leave all those seasoned bassheads satisfied.
