Preorder Take Aim here: https://firepowerrecords.lnk.to/takeaim

Los Angeles (October 17thth, 2017) – Firepower Records is beyond thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of Kompany’s Take Aim EP, and the amount of savagery he’s pumped into this project would make marauding Visigoths shudder in fear. Kompany’s rise through the ranks of bass music’s elite has been hard won and much deserved. After graduating from LA’s prestigious ICON music production school, he’s gone on to release a steady stream of tunes both independently and with label support. This will be his second EP with Firepower Records, and certainly not his last. With a bass face that could melt steel, Kompany’s music continues to demolish dance floors across the nation. Catch him on Bear Grillz’ Freakshow tour this winter.

The first tune on the EP, “Take Aim”, features long time-firepower fam lyricist Mikey Ceaser, and he takes no prisoners here. Kompany engineers a generous platform for Mikey’s lyrical swordplay while delivering some nefarious bass bombs. Kompany’s penchant for the darker sides of Dubstep come through here in the various sinister synths he expertly constructs. The tune is a bone crusher.

“Go Off” is designed to make crowds lose their shit, plain and simple. It’s a rail rider’s dream, an air conductor’s magnum opus. If you’ve seen Kompany play recently you may have witnessed him conducting the savage synths of this tune as they pummel the crowd. It’s a sight to behold. The track is perfectly balanced, toggling between dark musical narratives and full-forced walls of sound.

“Eclipse” is arguably the centerpiece of this EP. Kompany’s production skill is revealed here through his ability to build complex musical stories, which feed right into gargantuan drops. Huge beats roll the tune forward like a massive soul-devouring robot of the apocalypse, and the effect the tune has on the crowd is unmitigated madness.

Squaring off the EP is Kompany’s collaboration with Adair call “Fuk’d”. It’s a genre-bending romp through the bass music universe. An intoxicating break beat leads the tune into hip-swiveling territory real quick. Then the beat breaks down into a hard-as-nails, knee-buckling trap style section. The result is a wonderfully fresh take on bass music. “Fuk’d” is a perfect dance floor weapon for stirring the audience into frenzied hysteria.

Track list for Take Aim:

  1. Kompany – “Take Aim” Featuring Mikey Ceaser
  2. Kompany – “Go Off”
  3. Kompany – “Eclipse”
  4. Kompany & Adair – “Fuk’d”

Firepower Records to Release Datsik and 1000Volts’ Single “Monster” #WEAREMONSTER http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-datsik-and-1000voltz-single-monster-wearemonster/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-datsik-and-1000voltz-single-monster-wearemonster/#respond Tue, 08 Aug 2017 14:44:13 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2919 Los Angeles (August 8th, 2017) – Firepower Records is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of Datsik and 1000volts’ new collaborative single “Monster”. 1000volts is a duo comprised of hip-hop legend, Redman, and world-renowned turntableist and producer, Jayceeoh. Slated to drop August 18th, this project brings together three massively influential artists and the crafts they’ve pioneered through their careers. Datsik claims a seat in the hallowed chambers of modern Dubstep’s hall of champions, and Jayceeoh successfully transformed his notoriety as a master turntablist into a massively successful career as bass music bombardier. Redman’s epic career define the glory days of Hip-Hop, and his collaborations with Method Man and featured collaborations with Wu-Tang Clan occupy a large part of the Rap narrative in the United States. “Monster” is the result of an improbable coalescing of diverse musical characters across time and space. But that’s the state of music today: a kid from an idyllic mountain town in British Columbia can end up producing music with one of his childhood rap icons from Newark, New Jersey. In fact, one of the first records Datsik ever bought was Redman’s “Dare Iz A Darkside”. Gotta love that!

As “Monster” cranks up, Redman doesn’t skip a beat. He explodes out of the gate in a “homicidal flow”, strafing the tune with an aggressive round of potent lyrical wizardry. Redman’s signature swagger cuts through the rolling bass line, and his rapid-fire vocal cadence is reminiscent of the famous UK grime lyricists. The bridge between Rap and Bass Music is crossed all the time these days, but Datsik and Jayceeoh construct a tune that harnesses the strength of Redman’s skill, rather than detract from it. The song is still quintessentially wubby, and, like with every tune Datsik and Jayceeoh have produced, easily recognizable in style and substance. With Jayceeoh’s production aptitude added in, the track transcends any simple description, and the result is dance floor bomb, an absolutely vital set list weapon.

Firepower Records to Release Flatline Compilation Volume 6 http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-flatline-compilation-volume-6/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-flatline-compilation-volume-6/#respond Mon, 12 Jun 2017 05:18:36 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2841 Pre-Order Firepower’s Flatline Compilation Volume 6 here: https://VA.lnk.to/flatline6

Los Angeles (June 12, 2017) Firepower Records is set to release the 6th installment of our Flatline Compilation on June 30th, 2017, and it’s filthier than ever. Since its inception, the Flatline Compilation has featured the brightest and most diverse new talents emerging in the bass music world. Many of our featured artists have since moved on to land record deals with us and find themselves on the world’s largest festival stages. Don’t be fooled—the names you see on the track list may be new, but one spin of the track and it’s clear these artists are wise beyond their years.

Carbin’s “GOMD” featuring Trvma is filthy right out the gate and pushes a Riddim style beat structure. The track rages through various synth arrangements and a sinister vocal sample pulses along with the intention of causing involuntary head nods. The track shifts mid-stream, and that head nod gets real aggressive, real quick.

Next, Cherney comes through with his classic dub anthem “Fatal Fury”. The dubstyle vocals lace the track with a throwback reggae vibe, but as the drop hits, everything goes ballistic. Cherney cleverly cycles through an electric guitar riff that adds a level of complexity to the tune.

Chompa’s “Fed Up” follows the compilation’s dub reggae vibe, but the chill tone is demolished almost immediately with a heavy AF dubstep beat and pulverizing synth engineering. The track rests for a moment, allowing the listener to catch their breath, but the pressure is quickly reapplied, and there’s no escaping its grip.

Squaring out the compilation is KTRL. His tune “Reign” reveals a producer with a mastery of the craft. The tune moves through a number of classic examples of bass music wizardry, and KTRL proves his engineering prowess with the use of intricate sound designs placed perfectly through the track.

Tracklist for Flatline Volume 6:

  1. Carbin – “GOMD” (feat. Trvma)
  2. Cherney – “Fatal Fury”
  3. Chompa – “Fed Up”
  4. KTRL – “Reign”

Firepower Records to Release Algo’s Real Life EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-algos-real-life-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-algos-real-life-ep/#respond Sun, 06 Sep 2015 22:14:02 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2073 September 7th (Los Angeles) Firepower Records is set to release Algo’s forthcoming EP Real Life, and as we continue to explore the outer limits of the bass music universe, Algo has become a perfect candidate to pilot this ship. With very few elite bass music DJ’s playing a single genre set anymore, Real Life proves that talent, like a painting, can’t be confined to a single color or shade. That would make for a pretty boring painting. What we have here is an EP that uses multiple sounds of the Dance music spectrum, and the result is a dynamic release. Every single track is a set list amplifier, and Algo puts on a clinic for how to get it done right.

“Formula” is a straight up heater. Deep and aggressive, the track pummels through multiple sequences of rapidly evolving and shifting synth cycles. It’s detailed and layered and gives the listener the feeling they’re listening to an always changing audio puzzle. “Rinse Out” one-ups “Formula”, though, through the use of extremely intricate sound designs paired with a massive thumping bass line. Algo has somehow given this track a life of its own, and when you’re banging your head to the exceptionally heavy drop, you may want to appreciate the subtle slicing sounds beneath the snare, the white-noise in the background, or the wall of sound he builds without you ever noticing it. Take out any of these minute details and the track wouldn’t be the same.

With Bass House making big appearances in festival sets all over the world this year, Algo comes through with one of his own. The title track “Real Life” employs classic house elements with the addition of Algo’s precise bass production prowess. The song is extremely danceable, and it goes hard enough to satisfy hardcore fans midway through a bass set. Algo punches so much energy into this track, and, if you listen carefully, no section of the song ever repeats itself—a testament to Algo’s incredible attention to detail. It’s a track that is constantly revealing its secrets as you dance your ass off to it.

Rounding of the EP is “Wild”, and if you catch yourself on the dance floor without another body to grind up against, we feel bad for you. “Wild” pulls from old school rap beat structures—much the way Trap does–but Algo injects it with 21st century bass designs. The track, then, becomes the perfect track for where we are right now with bass music. Algo is clever enough to take these foundational sounds and pilot us ever farther out into the bass music Universe.

The Tracklist for Real life is:

1. Algo – “Rinse Out”

2. Algo – “Wild”

3. Algo – “Real Life”

4. Algo – “Formula”

FP to Release Init’s In The Game EP http://firepowerrecords.com/fp-to-release-inits-in-the-game-ep/ Mon, 11 May 2015 14:30:29 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1480 (Los Angeles) May 11th Firepower Records will release L.A. based Init’s scorching new EP In The Game on May 26th, and although the EP features four tracks, Init is able to explore the limits of the bass music universe and report back like some raved-out version of Captain Kirk. In The Game represents some hefty forward thinking philosophies on how mind splitting modern Dubstep, minimal Dub, Trap, and old-school dirty south Rap influences can coalesce around one central theme: Audio Annihilation.

The title track “In The Game” rolls out some heavily supercharged dirty south beat structures. But as the buildup gains power, the listener becomes aware that the only possible next move is to drop the track into a grimey Dubstep banger. The sound design is varied yet precise and smashes through one mind-numbing synth pattern and into another. When paired with the fourth track on the EP, “Rogue Dolphin”, it’s clear Init is attempting to reconstruct everything we know about how Trap should sound. He melds the dirty south beat with the heavy electronic soul-slicing synths and earth-rattling sub-bass only a festival sound system could handle.

“Actavis” and “Wanna Flex” exemplify the range Init can travel on his journey through bass music production. While “Actavis” moves through a dark and minimal underground world of Dub, “Wanna Flex” takes Twerk to a new level. Notoriously conducive for booty clapping, Twerk music moves at a higher BPM. As a result “Wanna Flex” is an all out dance floor destroyer. “Actavis” shows a much more mature and thoughtful homage to classic UK dub production styles. When taken together, though, the tracks represent a producer whose knowledge and skill surpass the genres that attempt to contain his vision.

The tracklisting for In The Game are:

1. Init – “In The Game”
2. Init – “Actavis”
3. Init – “Wanna Flex”
4. Init – “Rogue Dolphin”

xKore’s Wild to the Kore http://firepowerrecords.com/xkores-wild-to-the-kore/ http://firepowerrecords.com/xkores-wild-to-the-kore/#comments Thu, 07 May 2015 14:03:48 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1476 (Los Angeles) May 7th Firepower Records is proud to announce the release of xKore’s Wild To The Kore EP, and although the label continues to push the limits of what’s possible in bass music, xKore delivers an overdose of that heavy grime diehard Firepower fans have grown to love. At only 21 years of age, his productions show an enviable diversity and range resulting from his willingness to experiment with sound. But one thing is clear: his productions are frenetic and fierce.

Leading the EP is the title track “Wild to the Kore”, and it’s the sonic equivalent of a kick in the gut. xKore’s intention is to rattle listeners to the “Kore”, and this track does not fail at doing just that. “Full Clip”, the second track on the EP, increases the pressure with an onslaught of mind numbing chainsaw synths and stabs. When played back to back, this combination of tracks can act as an efficient tool for separating oneself from their sanity.

“PULL UP” moves into uncharted territory by slicing up the traditional Drum and Bass, Dubstep and Trap genres and reassembling them into a monster peak hour banger. It’s a welcome addition to the heavier Dubstep grime holding down the first half of the EP. The last track of the EP “Go Hard” reveals a producer who has perfected his craft. He builds the tune using a heavy Trap platform and then explodes into a dancefloor-crushing hardstyle section. xKore knows his audience well, and for those fans who have been craving a return to the filthy beats, this EP is for you.

The tracklisting for Wild to the Kore is:

1. xKore – “Wild to the Kore”
2. xKore – “Full Clip”
3. xKore – “ PULL UP”
4. xKore – “ Go Hard
