Ninja Nation Tour – Firepower Records http://firepowerrecords.com Thu, 15 Feb 2018 19:06:55 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 Firepower Records To Release Carbin “The Formula” EP http://firepowerrecords.com/carbinformulaannounce/ http://firepowerrecords.com/carbinformulaannounce/#respond Thu, 15 Feb 2018 17:00:40 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=3576 Los Angeles (February 15th, 2018) – Firepower Records is set to release Carbin’s The Formula EP on March 1st, just in time for his turn supporting Datsik on his massive Ninja Nation 2018 tour as it sweeps across the U.S. There’s been a lot of attention centered on Carbin recently. He put out “GOMD” featuring Trvma on Firepower’s Flatline Compilation Volume 6 in June of last year, which woke both major Bass Artists and audiences to a new force on the block. That November, he would collaborate with AFK to produce “Boss”, which is quickly becoming one of the most iconic Riddim rollers on the planet. Carbin is at the top of his class, and he’s here to bang your head.

Starting the EP is “League” featuring Datsik, and it’s a full-on audio assault. The tune leads in with a sinister buildup and drops straight into the purifying fires a bass fueled inferno. As the track cycles through various inventive beat structures, the alternating sound designs pioneered by both Carbin and Datsik engage with each other. The experience is like listening to two phenom musicians taking turns showing audiences the range of their musical potential. The result is a tune that is always reshaping itself into bigger and bigger drops.

“Twenty-2-Life” is Carbin at his most formidable. With a euphoric topline initiating the track and a powerful sub bass rumbling guts underneath, this future classic riddim roller is designed to leave audiences in puddles. Carbin’s notorious synth stabs only feeds the frenzy, and his wall-of-sound design technique ensures a total immersion in the tune. Carbin knows exactly what he wants to do, always has, and an even more acute sense of how he wants the audience to react. “Twenty-2-Life” is study in crowd control.

Next up is “Not Your ID”, and like “Twenty-2-Life” it pumps from the bottom to the top. A heavy sub-bass undergirds the tune, carrying it along like a deep ocean swell. Carbin sustains the wave with expertly arranged synth structures and layering designs that fill the entirety of the tune. As the track crashes onto audiences on the dance floor, they’re swept away into bass bliss.

“All Night”, featuring the crown prince of bass music lyricism, Armanni Reign, slows the flow of the EP down for a sexy trap-hop hybrid. Booties will drop, and as Carbin invites us to shed our often restricted day-time personas for the creative potential of our ratchet rave avatars, we’re reminded about the importance of getting deep, down, and low.

Ending the EP is “City Lights”, and it’s a gorgeous euphoric treatment of bass-hybrid theory. Similar to “All Night”, Carbin slows the dance floor down and centers the energy of the tune on the groove centers of our consciousness. These last two tunes reveal a musical intelligence that outstretches the frame of the genres in which Carbin produces. His range is unlimited and his style is impeccable, and both characteristics will carry Carbin into the upper echelons of Bass Music’s hall of heros very soon.

The Tracklisting for The Formula is:

  1. Carbin – “League” (feat. Datsik)
  2. Carbin – “Twenty-2-Life”
  3. Carbin – “Not Your ID”
  4. Carbin – “All Night” (feat. Armanni Reign)
  5. Carbin – “City Lights”

Datsik To Release Brand New ‘Master of Shadows’ EP http://firepowerrecords.com/masterofshadowsannounce/ http://firepowerrecords.com/masterofshadowsannounce/#comments Wed, 03 Jan 2018 17:30:11 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=3498 Los Angeles (January 3, 2018) Firepower Records is about to set the entire year of 2018 on fire with Datsik’s new EP, Master of Shadows, which will drop January 12th, the same day as the first show of Datsik’s massive 55+ date Ninja Nation Tour. These next generation bass bombs are designed to shock and awe your whole reality into an entirely new plane of existence. Despite a rigorous show schedule interspersed with 18-hour workdays in the studio, Datsik has created what could be his finest piece of work to date. Datsik has an uncanny ability to identify and cultivate talent, and this EP has some of the industry’s most innovative and productive minds collaborating on what promises to be an instant classic among his collection of chart topping records.

“Pressure Plates”, the first track of the EP, is a triumphant, beautiful, and uplifting track balanced expertly with a powerful bass line and the signature wobbles that makes a Datsik tune so immediately recognizable. “Pressure Plates” is a peak hour weapon and is designed to leave crowds melted into puddles on dance floors.

There are a few producers whom Troy is observably in awe of. One of them is Virtual Riot. Last year, Virtual Riot joined Datsik’s Ninja Nation Tour and was often spotted providing free production tutorials on his laptop for any who would listen. Rumors about his ability to produce a tune on the road and then play it out that night increased the developing mythology surrounding him. So when Troy began to tease a massive collaborative project, the bass community went haywire. “Warriors of the Night” and “Freakuency” are those tunes, and they are as sinister and pulverizing as you can imagine. The tracks bring forth a few of the motifs pervasive in both the artist’s work–the Ninja and the customs surrounding this secretive warrior class and mosh pit inducing buzzsaw synth engineering. Samplings of traditional Japanese instrumentation create eerie and distant tones, but when the Riddim-inspired bass drops, it’s an all-out assault on your psychic core.

Datsik’s ability to merge the Rap and Dubstep world are the stuff of legend, and this EP reinforces that claim. Two tracks, “Bad Behavior” and “You’ve Changed” feature show-stopping Rap lyricism, and both are festival ready. For “Bad Behavior”, Datsik teams up with Ganja White Night and lyricist T Rabb, and this particularly lethal combination is a monster dead set on ripping your sanity apart. A big, bouncy bass line rolls underneath a generous sampling of Ganja White Night’s phenomenal production potential. Scorching synth stabs ignite the tune and T Rabb’s lyricism brings it to a white-hot heat. Ganja White Night has been making a steady rise through the industry, impressing promoters and talent buyers with their incredibly diligent work ethic and professionalism. No surprise Datsik brought them in for a collab.

The young Mech Hop King JPhelpz offers up his talents for “Ronin Riddim”, and the result is a satisfyingly crunchy romp through the Riddim equivalent of feudal Japan. JPhelpz has released prolifically with Firepower Records, and his skill has increased exponentially with each record. Datsik has cultivated his unique power, and it’s clear with this tune that JPhelpz is ready to be a Ronin—a masterless samurai. The tune is heavy, perfected, precise, but it’s the clever mech sound that shines through this riddim heater.

As a grand finale, Datsik harnesses the power of Excision and Dion Timmer for a collab that is specially designed for head banging. Might as well harness the potential energy of an exploding star, because this tune’s detonation will have lasting ripple effects across the dance music universe. The history Datsik and Excision share is legendary and well documented. With Dion Timmer’s fresh vision, the tune will not be stopped.

Firepower Records to Release Bear Grillz & Getter’s EDM Remixed http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-bear-grillz-getters-edm-remixed/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-bear-grillz-getters-edm-remixed/#respond Thu, 05 Nov 2015 14:17:40 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2163 LOS ANGELES (November 5, 2015) Bear Grillz might be having the best year ever. His track “Fuck Off”, which was produced as a collaborative project between him and Datsik, has charted on the Beatport Dubstep Top Ten for nearly 6 months, and held the number 1 spot for almost as long. From Datsik’s earth shattering Ninja Nation Tour to Excision’s upcoming Paradox tour, Bear Grillz is routinely crushing the biggest tour cycles of bass music’s biggest badasses.

Today, we are so stoked to announce the forthcoming release of Bear Grillz and Getter’s “EDM” remixed on November 27th, and the roster of talent that signed up for remixing duties is insane.

The Remixed collection contains four tracks, starting with a VIP cut of “EDM”. With heavy rotations on the club and festival circuits, the VIP pulls the original apart and reassembles it using a rounder, deeper, and more sustained sub-bass. The synth arrangement is focused and refined, and an added sinister melody cruises over the top. The result a super-clean version of the track that rolls crowds over before they even know what hits them.

Firepower’s main Dawg Protohype comes through with a massive take on “EDM”. Protohype has been busy pushing his style to the edges of the bass music universe, and that experimentation pays off here. The track toggles between Trap structures and traditional Dubstep influences, but it’s also a glimpse to the future of a non-genre bass music world. There’s at once a decidedly gangster Rap feel to the synth design, but the track returns to the high frequency, skull shattering stabs that drive audiences crazy.

Rounding out Remixed is the all-powerful Kennedy Jones. His motto is NeverNot, and his remix of “EDM” proves that, when it comes to inventiveness and innovation in the realms of dance floor destruction, he’s NeverNot on the cutting edge. This remix is nothing but Peak Set madness, the nuclear option, the red button, the 11th hour move towards audience annihilation. Kennedy Jones puts everything he’s got into his projects, and he leaves nothing out. This track goes full force, utilizing Trap beat structures and matching it against and mind-numbing synth design. It’s ballsy to say the least, but by taking his synth supersonic, he’s making a stand on his All-or-Nothing NeverNot Philosophy.

The Tracklisting for EDM Remixed is:

  1. Bear Grillz & Getter – “EDM”
  2. Bear Grillz & Getter – “EDM” (VIP)
  3. Bear Grillz & Getter – “EDM” (Protohype Remix)
  4. Bear Grillz & Getter – “EDM” (Kennedy Jones Remix)

Bear Grillz’ The Unbearable EP http://firepowerrecords.com/bear-grillz-the-unbearable-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/bear-grillz-the-unbearable-ep/#comments Wed, 14 Jan 2015 15:17:55 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1303 bear_grillz_unbearable_ep_1400px

Pre-Order The Unbearable EP on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-unbearable-ep/id954377886

LOS ANGELES (January 14, 2014) On January 27th, Firepower Records will release Bear GrillzThe Unbearable EP, and with the level of bass this EP packs, it’s fair to say that hibernation is officially over.

The EP kicks off with “Praise It”, a bouncy homage to the Reggae and Dub inspired rock of the early 2000’s. The track toggles between live-sound and hard-as-nails Dubstep sections. The live-sound sections are a clever use of classic instrumentation and offer the listener a unique dual experience. The track “Triple Threat”, a three way collaboration between Bear Grillz, Datsik and Firepower Records footsoldier Twine, offers up the same kind of vibe. There are two musical experiences at work here—one resembling a full band playing on stage and another slamming the listener with a full-on bass and synth audio assault. The staying power of the dub sound is massive, and it has proven to be so influential through the history of music that it flows seamlessly from the dub rock genre into it’s harder electronic music iteration, Dubstep.

Shark Attack”, however, takes no prisoners. It’s as aggressive and in your face as its title suggests. The shark attack tune made famous by the Jaws movie franchise lurks beneath the surface, and like the predator, this track will tear you up.

We all knew Bear Grillz was a promiscuous forest dwelling creature, but his track “DTF” seals the deal. It’s a peak hour electro house banger with some solid progressive synth tying everything together. But the message is clear, and you’ll want to be dancing next to someone you’re crushing on when the track slams festival sound systems this year.

It should be said, though, that Bear Grillz has an unorthodox hibernation schedule. Instead of shoving marmot flesh into his maw and then sleeping away the cold winter months, Bear Grillz has been touring North America on his marathon 45 date Oasis Tour with Mitis and Cry Wolf. Terravita has invited him onto their upcoming Gunpowder tour and he’s earned a spot on Firepower Records Label boss Datsik’s massive Ninja Nation Tour. It looks like the bear and his duck won’t be resting any time soon.

The Tracklisting for The Unbearable EP is:

1. Bear Grillz – “Praise It”
2. Bear Grillz – “Shark Attack”
3. Bear Grillz – “DTF”
4. Bear Grillz, Datsik & Twine – “Triple Threat” (Feat. General Jah Mikey)

Video Premiere: Fox Stevenson http://firepowerrecords.com/video-premiere-fox-stevenson/ Thu, 08 Jan 2015 06:04:45 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1286 Fox art 2

LOS ANGELES (January 8th, 2015) Fox Stevenson continues to rise into the upper echelon of the international bass music universe, and there’s no indication that he will stop soon. Now, with the announcement of the new music video for his internationally acclaimed hit “High Five!” and a resounding round of support from MTV and VH1, he’s taken another step towards capturing hearts and dominating charts all over the world.

“High Five!” is a single off of Fox Stevenson’s Throwdown EP, which dropped in July of last year on Los Angeles based Bass Guru Datsik’s Firepower Records label. The video is directed by Justin Donnelly and depicts a day in the beachside paradise of sunny Los Angeles. From the boardwalk of Venice Beach to the wild nighttime backyard pool parties, the video will get you off the couch and packing your bags for the City of Angels—or at least get you dancing.

An unmitigated talent in his own right, Fox Stevenson’s power of Bass is seemingly endless. With a mastery of all facets of the production process, Fox Stevenson has developed a formula that allows him to produce both as a mainstream artist and as a filthy Bass music maker simultaneously. He grew up in an artistic environment and flourishes as a fearless performer on and off stage. He writes, sings, and mixes his own material in a live-act performance that incorporates multiple genres, creates a fun, upbeat and explosive sound, and pushes the limits of electronic music. Datsik saw this and wasn’t going to let it slip through his fingers.

His talent so impressed Datsik that he has invited him on his massive Ninja Nation Tour, which begins this month in Boston and will be hitting cities all over North America through April. Make sure and catch Fox Stevenson together with Datsik on any of the following tour dates:

February 20-21st, Ninja Nation Tour – Chicago, IL
March 4th, Ninja Nation Tour – Aspen, CO
March 5th, Ninja Nation Tour – Grand Junction, CO
March 6th, Ninja Nation Tour – Denver, CO
March 7th, Ninja Nation Tour –Denver, CO
March 14th, Ninja Nation Tour – San Francisco, CA
