“Ghost Boogie” starts out strong with a powerful guitar ballad riff, an homage to the heavy rock background of Hi I’m Ghost, and it will anchor the tune through it’s insane drops and expertly crafted synth designs. But what catches the conscience of the crowd is the precision of the audio engineering. Sounds layered together create an impenetrable wall of noise that rattles guts and claims souls simultaneously. It’s festival ready and will test the integrity of whatever speakers it’s pushed through.

“Pow Pow” can go ahead and claim it’s rightful position on your setlist. An ominous buildup hypnotizes the audience, dropping them into a vicious Riddim roller all at once. What follows is complete audio annihilation, and the pulsing synth constructions are designed to instigate egregious displays of gunfinger maneuvering. As with “Ghost Boogie” the prevailing characteristic of the tune is its creativity. The track pulverizes the audience with a range of clever design techniques, which will keep crowds hooked on every sound.

The first tune on the EP, “Das Fuego”, is the definition of a face-melter. Hi I’m Ghost constructs a wall of sound so thick, Game of Thrones stole the designs for their show. A mind-numbing synth rips through the track, which lays over the top of a Riddim beat so aggressive it’ll snap your headphones in two. “Da Fuego” should really come with a Surgeon General’s warning.

“Pray For Me” makes mincemeat of any Dubstep tune in recent memory. Packed to capacity with filthy sound constructions and samples, the track goes hard from the start and does not let up. The first drop is pulverizing, and the audience is cracked open with a frenetic round of synth sections that scrambles your eggs and eats them for breakfast.

Hi I’m Ghost pull up the classic Dub Reggae filth from the deep with “Boi” and re-engineers it like a couple of Frankensteins in the lab. Place a set of jet engine on your favorite reggae head-nodder and you’ll come close to knowing what this tune sounds like. Hi I’m Ghost prove that a classic doesn’t have to die on the alter of the new.

“Uh-Oh” crashes into your world with an intoxicating piano section—the tone is set. But as the drop approaches, you realize the tune is going to let you have it right in the gut. And it does. But the gorgeous piano topline never truly leaves you, and as a result, the track is highly addictive. The soundscape Hi I’m Ghost creates is beautiful, but like everything beautiful, there’s a filthy side.

Although this is his debut EP, Hi I’m Ghost reveals a level of production mastery unrivaled by many veteran producers today. The first track on the EP is “Lit” and it’s an all-out assault. Hi I’m Ghost comes out hard and heavy, balancing the more apocalyptic tendencies within Dubstep with the more foundational and subtle dub Reggae styles. The hardcore ragamuffin within will rage to this one.

“Flo” is designed specifically to nail your sanity to wall. Hi I’m Ghost returns to the primary components of dub again, here, with an infectious section of raga lyricism. Immediately noticeable is the bounced-up bass line that carries a screaming synth construction through the track. Hi I’m Ghost toggles between multiple drum samples within the track, settling on a groovy AF trap section. The detailed sound designs within the track are delightful and work in service of the wall of sound Hi I’m Ghost achieves. This is a gnarly festival banger.

Next up is “Misery”, and it’s with this track that Hi I’m Ghost proves his melody-making prowess. It’s undeniable he has a firm grasp of classic musicality, and it comes through with Misery. Large and sweeping in its scope, the track moves back and forth from the euphoric to the savage—perfect for the kind of severe mental onslaught any DJ wishes to put upon a head banging audience.

That kind of musical ethos is perfected in “Halfway”. Hi I’m Ghost takes a Hard Trap approach but welds it against a classic Dubstep beat giving the track a distinct and unique sound. The ethereal vocalism floating over the top of the track adds to the euphoria, but like “Misery”, the track goes wild quickly. For anyone looking for a new sound, this is it.

Los Angeles (January 30, 2017) – Firepower Records is set to release the 5^th installment of their Flatline Compilation on February 17th , and it’s stacked with some of the most talented producers currently breaking into the bass music game. Two years ago, Firepower Records released their first Flatline Compilation, and it featured the young up-and-comers Jphelpz, Aweminus, Phiso, and EH!DE. Two years later, these bass music badasses are crushing international festival stages and clubs all over the world. With talent like this rising through the ranks, the bass music establishment better stay woke—these producers are skilled beyond their years.

Chime returns to the Firepower fold with a nasty track. “Get Your hands Dirty” rolls in hard, and Chime gives us a solid melodic topline to hook the listener in. The track builds its way into the drop, but, in a sinister little move, delays the beat a count. The result is madness. Halfway through the track, Chime toggles into a Riddim beat, and the shift up is designed to unleash chaos on the dance floor.

Next, we’re proud to introduce Hi I’m Ghost, and he’s been bulldozing his way into the bass music world. “All In My Head” is a feast for anyone immediately mesmerized by the more euphoric components of bass music production. The intro is gorgeous. Suddenly, the track drops off a cliff, and the track digs its sonic claws into your head. His obvious knowledge of bass music comes through as he shifts between multiple beat structures, ultimately creating a very listenable and satisfying tune. Hi I’m Ghost is a pro, a true testament to the role of hard work and grinding constantly at perfecting the craft.

Everyone welcome Nato Feelz to the Firepower family. Right out of the gate, he makes a name for himself with “Bad Bitch”, a deeply felt Trapstyle track. At once beautiful and melodic, the track leaps into head bang territory just at the right time. A filthy sub bass rattles your guts, and just when you’ve had enough, the track reminds you of how sweet and innocent it can be.

Squaring out the compilation is another new-comer to the label, Blaqout. He’s been working hard behind the scenes and his work has paid off. “Mystic Flex” is a brilliant piece of bass music, and it reflects a solid grasp what makes a tune immediate head bang material. The track features an expertly designed synth arrangement and a sub bass that balances everything out perfectly. Blaqout’s unique sound design set’s him apart, and his music is instantly recognizable. Don’t sleep on this track.
