EP – Firepower Records http://firepowerrecords.com Mon, 17 Dec 2018 17:49:19 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 Firepower Records to Release JPhelpz’s Maximum Damage EP http://firepowerrecords.com/maximumdamageannounce/ http://firepowerrecords.com/maximumdamageannounce/#respond Mon, 17 Dec 2018 17:14:23 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=3877 PRE SAVE ON SPOTIFY

Firepower Records is incredibly excited to kick off 2019 with no other than our heavy hitter JPhelpz, with his brand-new project. Aptly titled ‘Maximum Damage’ EP is certain to hit the masses with some serious ammo – you’ve been warned! The five track EP packs some serious heat from start to finish that’s sure to get those senses tingling. So, proceed with caution!

Starting things off, JPhelpz showcases “BREAK YO NECK”which is very straightforward with its intentions, as you can tell from the title. With a haunting introduction that warns to proceed with caution, things take a turn for the danger zone before you’ve been able to properly grasp what’s to come. Leading straight into a pulverizing bassline, JPhelpz aims at pure destruction with a bassline that aims for blood with two drops that settle in the forefront of your subconscious, leaving you hungry for more.

Following up in proper fashion, “DAMAGE”steps up to the plate with a heavily influenced hip hop introduction that entices right from the start. Flexing with some serious mech vibes, JPhelpz stuns with an impeccable break down with a jumpy step that’s sure to get the masses rockin’ from side to side, before the bassline really sinks its teeth into you. With a second drop that settles in even better than the first, JPhelpz proves “DAMAGE” isn’t meant for the faint of heart.

Next up, “OG”brings the heat in proper JPhelpz fashion – you know what we mean here. Returning to the throne with his signature sound and aggressive buildup, JPhelpz quickly proves his talents are simply unmatched. Shedding light on a wobbly bassline that’s meant to get those booties percolating, JPhelpz keep it grimey with a heavy low-end that takes over your body before you know it. With a second drop that comes in for the kill, “OG” reaffirms his status as one of the genres biggest players.

With heavy roots in the genre of metal, it’s only proper that JPhelpz brings them to the forefront with “SUPPRESSOR”as it grips your attention right from the start with relentless guitar riffs. Aiming right from the jugular, the ominous introduction wastes little time before pulling out all the stops with a wobbly bassline paired with gnarly growls that cause some serious bass face. Leaving some breathing room between drops, JPhelpz makes sure to finish off strong with a second drop that hits even harder than the first.

Closing out the project proper, JPhelpz pulls out all the stops with “TANKED”. Hitting the ground running with another wobbly bassline, “TANKED” offers up some serious heat in the form of unrelenting bass oblivion. Serving up a flawless high energy beat, this one certainly shows off in true JPhelpz style. Moving you into another dimension of dizzy bassline aftermath, “TANKED” doesn’t let up from start to finish and showcases the infectious sound he’s known for.

The tracklisting for ‘Maximum Damage’ EP is:

  1. JPhelpz -“BREAK YO NECK”
  2. JPhelpz – “DAMAGE”
  3. JPhelpz – “OG”
  4. JPhelpz – “SUPPRESSOR”
  5. JPhelpz – “TANKED”

Datsik To Release Brand New ‘Master of Shadows’ EP http://firepowerrecords.com/masterofshadowsannounce/ http://firepowerrecords.com/masterofshadowsannounce/#comments Wed, 03 Jan 2018 17:30:11 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=3498 Los Angeles (January 3, 2018) Firepower Records is about to set the entire year of 2018 on fire with Datsik’s new EP, Master of Shadows, which will drop January 12th, the same day as the first show of Datsik’s massive 55+ date Ninja Nation Tour. These next generation bass bombs are designed to shock and awe your whole reality into an entirely new plane of existence. Despite a rigorous show schedule interspersed with 18-hour workdays in the studio, Datsik has created what could be his finest piece of work to date. Datsik has an uncanny ability to identify and cultivate talent, and this EP has some of the industry’s most innovative and productive minds collaborating on what promises to be an instant classic among his collection of chart topping records.

“Pressure Plates”, the first track of the EP, is a triumphant, beautiful, and uplifting track balanced expertly with a powerful bass line and the signature wobbles that makes a Datsik tune so immediately recognizable. “Pressure Plates” is a peak hour weapon and is designed to leave crowds melted into puddles on dance floors.

There are a few producers whom Troy is observably in awe of. One of them is Virtual Riot. Last year, Virtual Riot joined Datsik’s Ninja Nation Tour and was often spotted providing free production tutorials on his laptop for any who would listen. Rumors about his ability to produce a tune on the road and then play it out that night increased the developing mythology surrounding him. So when Troy began to tease a massive collaborative project, the bass community went haywire. “Warriors of the Night” and “Freakuency” are those tunes, and they are as sinister and pulverizing as you can imagine. The tracks bring forth a few of the motifs pervasive in both the artist’s work–the Ninja and the customs surrounding this secretive warrior class and mosh pit inducing buzzsaw synth engineering. Samplings of traditional Japanese instrumentation create eerie and distant tones, but when the Riddim-inspired bass drops, it’s an all-out assault on your psychic core.

Datsik’s ability to merge the Rap and Dubstep world are the stuff of legend, and this EP reinforces that claim. Two tracks, “Bad Behavior” and “You’ve Changed” feature show-stopping Rap lyricism, and both are festival ready. For “Bad Behavior”, Datsik teams up with Ganja White Night and lyricist T Rabb, and this particularly lethal combination is a monster dead set on ripping your sanity apart. A big, bouncy bass line rolls underneath a generous sampling of Ganja White Night’s phenomenal production potential. Scorching synth stabs ignite the tune and T Rabb’s lyricism brings it to a white-hot heat. Ganja White Night has been making a steady rise through the industry, impressing promoters and talent buyers with their incredibly diligent work ethic and professionalism. No surprise Datsik brought them in for a collab.

The young Mech Hop King JPhelpz offers up his talents for “Ronin Riddim”, and the result is a satisfyingly crunchy romp through the Riddim equivalent of feudal Japan. JPhelpz has released prolifically with Firepower Records, and his skill has increased exponentially with each record. Datsik has cultivated his unique power, and it’s clear with this tune that JPhelpz is ready to be a Ronin—a masterless samurai. The tune is heavy, perfected, precise, but it’s the clever mech sound that shines through this riddim heater.

As a grand finale, Datsik harnesses the power of Excision and Dion Timmer for a collab that is specially designed for head banging. Might as well harness the potential energy of an exploding star, because this tune’s detonation will have lasting ripple effects across the dance music universe. The history Datsik and Excision share is legendary and well documented. With Dion Timmer’s fresh vision, the tune will not be stopped.

Firepower Records to Release Kompany’s Take Aim EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-kompanys-take-aim-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-kompanys-take-aim-ep/#respond Tue, 17 Oct 2017 14:14:52 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=3010

Preorder Take Aim here: https://firepowerrecords.lnk.to/takeaim

Los Angeles (October 17thth, 2017) – Firepower Records is beyond thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of Kompany’s Take Aim EP, and the amount of savagery he’s pumped into this project would make marauding Visigoths shudder in fear. Kompany’s rise through the ranks of bass music’s elite has been hard won and much deserved. After graduating from LA’s prestigious ICON music production school, he’s gone on to release a steady stream of tunes both independently and with label support. This will be his second EP with Firepower Records, and certainly not his last. With a bass face that could melt steel, Kompany’s music continues to demolish dance floors across the nation. Catch him on Bear Grillz’ Freakshow tour this winter.

The first tune on the EP, “Take Aim”, features long time-firepower fam lyricist Mikey Ceaser, and he takes no prisoners here. Kompany engineers a generous platform for Mikey’s lyrical swordplay while delivering some nefarious bass bombs. Kompany’s penchant for the darker sides of Dubstep come through here in the various sinister synths he expertly constructs. The tune is a bone crusher.

“Go Off” is designed to make crowds lose their shit, plain and simple. It’s a rail rider’s dream, an air conductor’s magnum opus. If you’ve seen Kompany play recently you may have witnessed him conducting the savage synths of this tune as they pummel the crowd. It’s a sight to behold. The track is perfectly balanced, toggling between dark musical narratives and full-forced walls of sound.

“Eclipse” is arguably the centerpiece of this EP. Kompany’s production skill is revealed here through his ability to build complex musical stories, which feed right into gargantuan drops. Huge beats roll the tune forward like a massive soul-devouring robot of the apocalypse, and the effect the tune has on the crowd is unmitigated madness.

Squaring off the EP is Kompany’s collaboration with Adair call “Fuk’d”. It’s a genre-bending romp through the bass music universe. An intoxicating break beat leads the tune into hip-swiveling territory real quick. Then the beat breaks down into a hard-as-nails, knee-buckling trap style section. The result is a wonderfully fresh take on bass music. “Fuk’d” is a perfect dance floor weapon for stirring the audience into frenzied hysteria.

Track list for Take Aim:

  1. Kompany – “Take Aim” Featuring Mikey Ceaser
  2. Kompany – “Go Off”
  3. Kompany – “Eclipse”
  4. Kompany & Adair – “Fuk’d”

Firepower Records to Release Hi I’m Ghost’s Slumber Party EP http://firepowerrecords.com/slumberpartyep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/slumberpartyep/#comments Wed, 06 Sep 2017 16:10:42 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2959 Los Angeles (September 6th, 2017) – Firepower Records is set to release Hi I’m Ghost’s scorching new EP Slumber Party on September 29th, and if you were afraid there’s been a dearth of innovative sounds designs in bass music lately, this EP will set you straight. The boys from Hi I’m Ghost are massively talented, infinitely innovative, and are not afraid to push bass music to its breaking point. Their obsession with dance music drove them into the lab a few years ago to produce the next generation of Bass Music masterpieces. All signs indicate Hi I’m Ghost is on a meteoric rise through the ranks of dance music’s brightest newcomers. The way this is going, it’ll be hard to catch them. But, in the words of Hi I’m Ghost, “The ghosts you chase, you never catch.”

The first tune on the EP, “Das Fuego”, is the definition of a face-melter. Hi I’m Ghost constructs a wall of sound so thick, Game of Thrones stole the designs for their show. A mind-numbing synth rips through the track, which lays over the top of a Riddim beat so aggressive it’ll snap your headphones in two. “Da Fuego” should really come with a Surgeon General’s warning.

Pray For Me” makes mincemeat of any Dubstep tune in recent memory. Packed to capacity with filthy sound constructions and samples, the track goes hard from the start and does not let up. The first drop is pulverizing, and the audience is cracked open with a frenetic round of synth sections that scrambles your eggs and eats them for breakfast.

Hi I’m Ghost pull up the classic Dub Reggae filth from the deep with “Boi” and re-engineers it like a couple of Frankensteins in the lab. Place a set of jet engine on your favorite reggae head-nodder and you’ll come close to knowing what this tune sounds like. Hi I’m Ghost prove that a classic doesn’t have to die on the alter of the new.

Uh-Oh” crashes into your world with an intoxicating piano section—the tone is set. But as the drop approaches, you realize the tune is going to let you have it right in the gut. And it does. But the gorgeous piano topline never truly leaves you, and as a result, the track is highly addictive. The soundscape Hi I’m Ghost creates is beautiful, but like everything beautiful, there’s a filthy side.

The Tracklisting for Slumber Party is:

1. Hi I’m Ghost – “Das Fuego”
2. Hi I’m Ghost – “Pray For Me”
3. Hi I’m Ghost – “Boi”
4. Hi I’m Ghost – “Uh-Oh”

Firepower Records to Release Andromulus’ Loud in the Streets EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-andromulus-loud-in-the-streets-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-andromulus-loud-in-the-streets-ep/#respond Tue, 29 Aug 2017 02:57:05 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2946 Pre-order Loud in the Streets here: https://firepowerrecords.lnk.to/LITS

Los Angeles (August 29th, 2017) – Firepower Records will release Andromulus’ scorching new EP Loud In the Streets on September 15th, and that will be the day a new dance music behemoth accelerates his journey towards the upper echelons of the world’s elite producers. With a taste for mixing sweeping cinematic soundscapes with straight pulverizing synth and wobble sections, Loud in the Streets is an excellent example of the kind of potential Andromulus has within in him. This EP is all energy.

First on the EP is “Seismic”, and it’s earth-shattering. A big generous beat pushes the track forward, and a filthy synth construction rumbles over the top. But the most damaging part of the tune comes from the sped up, hands-in-the-air musical feeding frenzy halfway through. This is a festival ready track that will buckle knees and topple the speaker towers.

“On The Road To Hell” takes us back to the days of dance music where Electro House reigned supreme. Andromulus engineers an all-out shuffling anthem here, and it’s hard not to lose your shit to the tune’s massively intoxicating bounce. This track adds an excellent level of diversity to the EP overall, and Andromulus proves, again, that even the best bass sets can benefit from a BPM Shake up.

Andromulus begins “Phantom” with a world beat style, but it does not stay that way long. Phantom is a blueprint for how to create bass music into the future. With significant changeups in genre, style, and tone, the track becomes a call to producers everywhere to innovate. “Phantom” is an old school party tune in a new form, and when played out at a festival’s main stage, the results will include copious amounts of face melting, hip swiveling, and booty shaking.

Squaring up the EP is the title track “Loud in the Streets”. With an already magnificently complex and diverse EP, this track bounces energetically from future trap, to Dubstep, to a supremely head-nodic hip hop section. This tune is a certified crowd pleaser, and it’s a festival set weapon. With trends in live sets edging towards genre mixing, “Loud in the Streets” is a great track to diversify without bringing audiences out of the flow.

Track list for Loud in the Streets:

  1. Andromulus – “Seismic”
  2. Andromulus – “On the Road to Hell”
  3. Andromulus – “Phantom”
  4. Andromulus – “ Loud in the Streets”

Firepower Records to Release Dack Janiels’ Dackwoods EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-dack-janiels-dackwoods-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-dack-janiels-dackwoods-ep/#respond Mon, 21 Aug 2017 15:52:34 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2939 Pre-Order Dackwoods Here: https://FirepowerRecords.lnk.to/dackwoods

Los Angeles (August 21st, 2017) – Firepower Records is excited to announce the forthcoming release of Dack JanielsDackwoods EP, which drops September 8th. It’s an absolute crusher. This will be Dack’s second EP release with Firepower Records, and it surpasses the level of savagery he injected into his first EP with us, Swangin, which is saying a lot—Swangin was some top level filth. Dackwoods reveals a producer who has become a pioneer in multi genre bass production movements sweeping the game right now. With deep roots in Hip Hop and Rap, Dack Janiels brings us an EP that will fit into any festival set list, leaving major DJs across the world wondering how their set was ever any good without these tunes.

The EP begins with the title track, “Dackwoods”, and it’s a pulverizing trapstyle roller. A slicing synth construction leads the tune over the low rumbling bass. Dack Janiels has created a tune that is festival ready, but would also sound sick AF rolling down Sunset Blvd on the way to the next function.

“Slaughter” goes 0 to Riddim real quick, and as that beat proves it’s capacity to annihilate bass hungry fans around the globe, Dack Janiels pushes its evolution. By adding huge, heavy synth components and more modern bass constructions, the tune is a big and tasty slice of the future of what Riddim will be.

Protohype and Dack Janiels join forces for “Savage”, and all the hype surrounding the tune is real, and has been supported by Excision, Snails, Uber, and Subtronics. Both Dack and Protohype have played this tune out through this summer’s festival season, and the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. The sinister chord progression and west coast rap feel combines with Protohype’s stellar production prowess, and the result is a massive Dubstep anthem.

Squaring out the EP is “Extra Power”, and this is Dack Janiels’ attempt to KO the audience. Toggling between major trap styles and Dubstep beat constructions, the tune garners a complexity that allows for a major buildup and heavier drop. Dack Janiels builds in a wall of sound that puts the pressure on crowds and does not let up. It’s a dangerous tune, and for that reason, it should be used widely.

Tracklist for Dackwoods:

  1. Dack Janiels – “Dackwoods”
  2. Dack Janiels – “ Slaughter”
  3. Prothype & Dack Janiels – “Savage”
  4. Dack Janiels – “Extra Power”
