EH!DE – Firepower Records http://firepowerrecords.com Tue, 21 Feb 2017 18:43:43 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 Firepower Records Set to Release Flatline Volume 5 http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-set-to-release-flatline-volume-5/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-set-to-release-flatline-volume-5/#respond Mon, 30 Jan 2017 14:47:40 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2649 Preorder Flatline Volume 5 herehttps://VA.lnk.to/flatline5

Los Angeles (January 30, 2017) – Firepower Records is set to release the 5th installment of their Flatline Compilation on February 17th , and it’s stacked with some of the most talented producers currently breaking into the bass music game. Two years ago, Firepower Records released their first Flatline Compilation, and it featured the young up-and-comers Jphelpz, Aweminus, Phiso, and EH!DE. Two years later, these bass music badasses are crushing international festival stages and clubs all over the world. With talent like this rising through the ranks, the bass music establishment better stay woke—these producers are skilled beyond their years.

Chime returns to the Firepower fold with a nasty track. “Get Your hands Dirty” rolls in hard, and Chime gives us a solid melodic topline to hook the listener in. The track builds its way into the drop, but, in a sinister little move, delays the beat a count. The result is madness. Halfway through the track, Chime toggles into a Riddim beat, and the shift up is designed to unleash chaos on the dance floor.

Next, we’re proud to introduce Hi I’m Ghost, and he’s been bulldozing his way into the bass music world. “All In My Head” is a feast for anyone immediately mesmerized by the more euphoric components of bass music production. The intro is gorgeous. Suddenly, the track drops off a cliff, and the track digs its sonic claws into your head. His obvious knowledge of bass music comes through as he shifts between multiple beat structures, ultimately creating a very listenable and satisfying tune. Hi I’m Ghost is a pro, a true testament to the role of hard work and grinding constantly at perfecting the craft.

Everyone welcome Nato Feelz to the Firepower family. Right out of the gate, he makes a name for himself with “Bad Bitch”, a deeply felt Trapstyle track. At once beautiful and melodic, the track leaps into head bang territory just at the right time. A filthy sub bass rattles your guts, and just when you’ve had enough, the track reminds you of how sweet and innocent it can be.

Squaring out the compilation is another new-comer to the label, Blaqout. He’s been working hard behind the scenes and his work has paid off. “Mystic Flex” is a brilliant piece of bass music, and it reflects a solid grasp what makes a tune immediate head bang material. The track features an expertly designed synth arrangement and a sub bass that balances everything out perfectly. Blaqout’s unique sound design set’s him apart, and his music is instantly recognizable. Don’t sleep on this track.

The Tracklist for the Flatline Compilation Vol. 5 is:

  1. Chime – “Get Your Hands Dirty”
  2. Hi I’m Ghost – “All In My Head”
  3. Nato Feelz – “Bad Bitch”
  4. Blaqout – “Mystic Flex”

Firepower Records to Release Shellshock Kamikaze Compilation http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-shellshock-kamikaze-compliation/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-shellshock-kamikaze-compliation/#respond Sun, 17 Apr 2016 18:58:36 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2345 Pre Order the Shellshock Kamikaze Compilation here: http://bit.ly/KamikazePRE

Los Angeles (April 18th, 2016) Firepower Records is proud to announce the next release of our Shellshock Compilation, Kamikaze, and we’re getting early reports that it’s already setting flammable material ablaze thousands of miles away. The release of our yearly Shellshock Compilation also gives us a chance to reach out to you, our extended Firepower Fam, and celebrate the fact that you are what make us so strong.

Since its humble inception in March of 2012 by Troy BeetlesDatsik by his nom de guerre—Firepower Records has evolved into a bass music behemoth, releasing heavyweight producers like Datsik, Protohype, Getter, Barely Alive, Truth, Bear Grillz, Mayhem, Antiserum, Fox Stevenson, Must Die, PhaseOne, Terravita, ETC! ETC! and Trolley Snatcha and featuring Hip Hop and Rock royalty like Snoop Dog, Trinidad James, KRS-One, DJ Paul KOM of Three-6 Mafia and Travis Barker of Blink 182. The Firepower Family currently claims 65 artists and counting and on May 13th, the label will showcase the best and most badass it has to offer. As a show of overwhelming support, some of dance music’s heaviest hitters have signed on by offering tracks exclusively for the ShellShock Kamaikaze release. The tracklist reads like a bass music “best-of” list. If Bass Music had a fantasy league, this would be a winning line-up.

But Firepower is more than a disjointed and disconnected series of artists and tracks. We like to consider ourselves more of a Family and the ShellShock Kamikaze release as more of a family reunion. Firepower Records is a label and an internationally respected dance music brand, but it would be nothing without the like-minded artists, friends, neighbors, and fans that hold it all together and keep it alive.

There’s no finer example of the familial nature of the bass music world than the first collaboration on the Compilation. Datsik and 12th Planet come together with a dub infused “Party In The Sewer” featuring Elan, and it’s massive. A one-man wub factory, Datsik smashes the track with his signature wobbles, while 12th planet puts his creative beat creation and swampy sound techniques to work. Next, returning family member Bear Grillz throws down with “Nap Gurlz”. The disco hook pumps your impulse to dance and the drops will snap your neck if you’re not prepared. A quick word though–this track is in no way associated with the good people of Nap Girls, and if you’re interested in who they are, check them out! Protohype and Stratus put in work with “Let’s Do This”, and as expected the two artists march us through a spectrum of sound structures so diverse you lose your mind trying to keep track. Soltan continues to impress us with his creative vision. With “Turn Up” he takes Bass Music to the edges of the known universe and then hits lightspeed. Soltan is easily one of the new visionaries, and we should all be watching him closely.

EH!DE and Funk4mation peel the roof off with “Come Back”, and the Bass living under the basement of this track is scary and mad. EH!DE’s been crushing it recently, but it goes without saying that this has been the year of Zack The Lad. His release Black Sheep began the Firepower Records release calendar in 2016 and we just can’t get enough. It has been said that Datsik only has a few artists loaded into his personal iPod, and one of those artists is Zack The Lad. Here, he offers us “Won’t Stop”, and his production skill is immediately superior.

Spag Heddy is back with “Hugs and Stuff”, and we couldn’t be more stoked. A definite fan favorite, Spag Heddy has released nothing but fire. The opening wraps the listener with sonic sunshine and then slams your ass to ground. That must be the “Stuff” in the title. Init, Goldplate, and Hami all put in on “Greens”, and with all three of these stellar talents maximizing potential, the result is an epic facemelter. If there’s any way to guarantee the crowds will run a mosh pit on you, hammer this track through the sound system.

It’s been a while since AFK rolled out a release with Firepower Records, and we’re glad to have him back. “Death Gun” showcases the frenetic and yet focused musical mind of AFK. The synth takes us all over the sonic map, and we love it. We also love Drum and Bass, and what’s bass music without a little heavy Drum and Bass? Leave that to MineSweepa. “No Face” takes bass very seriously. The shift to Drum and Bass is perfectly placed in the track and by the time it hits, you’ve separated your mind from its corporeal lodgings. Rounding out the EP is Twine. They do nothing but amazing work, and it’s clear by the complexity of their productions. “Dayjahvuh” is another reminder that Bass Music is nowhere near finished evolving. The beat structure, with its diversity of fills and intricate sound designs, is both groovy and heavy.

The collection of talent contained in the Shellshock Kamikaze Compilation represents the best of what bass music has to offer and we’re happy to be sharing it with you.

The tracklist for Shellshock Kamikaze is:

  1. Datsik & 12th Planet – “Party In The Sewer” (feat. Elan)
  2. Bear Grillz – “Gurlz”
  3. Protohype & Stratus – “Let’s Do This”
  4. Soltan – “Turn Up”
  5. EH!DE & Funk4Mation – “Come Back”
  6. Zack The Lad – “Won’t Stop”
  7. Spag Heddy – “Hugs And Stuff”
  8. Init, Goldplate & Hami – “Greens”
  9. AFK – “Death Gun”
  10. MineSweepa – “No Face”
  11. Twine – “Dayjahvuh”

Firepower Records to Release EH!DE’s Redemption EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-ehdes-redemption-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-ehdes-redemption-ep/#respond Mon, 09 Nov 2015 05:57:53 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2171 (Los Angeles) November 9th Firepower Records is thrilled to announce the release of EH!DE’s forthcoming Redemption EP on December 4th, and although EH!DE has unleashed some massive tracks with us recently, this is his first solo EP for Firepower Records. It’s a revealing project for EH!DE; the EP has allowed him to focus on perfecting his craft and exploring the outer limits of his production talents. Given the pure skill he’s packed into it, he’s more than proved his place on the Firepower roster.

Leading off the EP is “OLC”, and it’s with this track that EH!DE proves he deserves the future accolades he’s bound to receive. His musical impact on the keys is as impressive as his imaginative synth creations. The centerpiece of the track is obviously its soaring melody, but when the bottom drops out and the bass hits, all hell breaks loose. This kind of versatility is what sustains bass producers through long and successful careers.

Both “Uncontrolled” and “High Grade” wreck shop with EH!DE’s filthy take on the swampier side of Dub. But “Uncontrolled” reveals an artist hitting his stride. The track is expertly produced and heavily layered, which creates a huge, rich, and powerful wall of sound. The Synth arrangement is murderous but is balanced by a lighter melodic key progression. The beat itself is a soul-crushing steamroller that makes victims of even the most powerful sound systems. “High Grade” shares these elements, but re-focuses the listener on the sound designs we’ve come to love from EH!DE. Wubby and glitchy, the track attacks and doesn’t let up. Walter Wilde’s characteristic influences roll through heavy and clear. The result is a set-list weapon any Bass DJ shouldn’t be without.

Rounding out the EP is “Extermination”, and it places the listener in EH!DE’s musical frame of mind: dark, destructive, teetering on the precipice of an imagined dystopian future. The opening sequence is sinister and cinematic, and EH!DE’s combination of heavy orchestral strings and buzzsaw synth stabs cut right into the pleasure and pain centers of the brain. By toggling back and forth between a Drumstep and Drum and Bass beat structure, the track invites heavy doses of high octane dancing. Be ready to hear much more from EH!DE.

The tracklisting for Redemption is:

  1. EH!DE – “OLC”
  2. EH!DE & Walter Wilde – “High Grade”
  3. EH!DE – “Uncontralled”
  4. EH!DE – “Extermination”

Firepower Records to Release Different Heaven’s Spanish Sikh EP http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-different-heavens-spanish-sikh-ep/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepower-records-to-release-different-heavens-spanish-sikh-ep/#respond Mon, 02 Nov 2015 17:00:40 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=2160 LOS ANGELES (November 2, 2015) Firepower Records is happy to announce the release of Different Heaven’s Spanish Sikh EP on November 20th. Based in Spain, Different Heaven brings a refreshing cultural identity to his productions that make them unique. This is Different Heaven’s first release with Firepower Records, and it’s clear that this rising talent has all the skill to make his name permanent in the bass music world.

The first track on the EP, “Harhippa”, sets the vibe of the EP by firing off a massive Doumbek drum rhythm. The rhythm pulses through the track and flows into and out of a series of massive bass drops. The track retains a decidedly cultural flavor, proving that dubstep not only welcomes, but also thrives on the influences of music from around the world.

“Rockin” explores the modern stylings of bass production, toggling between familiar classic electro samples and experimental synth patterns. The track becomes a mosaic of sound designs, which produce for the listener a certain nostalgia for the songs that hooked us into the scene.

The EP rounds out with “Paradise”, a collaboration between Different Heaven and EH!DE and featuring Alexa Lusader on vocals. This track is a massive, mother-of-all-bombs production, and when it drops it leaves a crater so deep you’ll need an escalator to get out. Alexa Lusader’s vocal treatment instantly transforms the song into a sing-along, but as the synth arrangements crash though and the walls of sound push across the dance floor, the pleasant sing-along turns into a group head-bang. Listen for this track on the fall festival circuit.

The tracklisting for Spanish Sikh is:

  1. Different Heaven & Soltan – “Harhippa”
  2. Different Heaven & Chime – “Rockin”
  3. Different Heaven & EH!DE – “Paradise” (Featuring Alexa Lusander)

Eh!de & Obscenity’s Savage Nature http://firepowerrecords.com/ehde-obscenitys-savage-nature/ http://firepowerrecords.com/ehde-obscenitys-savage-nature/#comments Sun, 15 Mar 2015 21:50:57 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1414 savage nature

(Los Angeles) March 16th Firepower Records is set to release another scorching collaboration between Israel’s legendary bad-mouthed bass cannon Obscenity and Spain’s Dubstep Phenom Eh!de. Savage Nature is an apt title for this 4-track EP, and each song is designed to ignite some deep and primitive impulses to rage.

“Our Power” bolts out of the gate seething with intensity and sets the tone for the rest of the EP. The track guides us in with a heavy sub-bass-synth-section, and then releases the heat. The rolling Dubstep bassline carries a sinister melody over the top. It’s the kind of production technique that rallies dancefloors and sparks the need for a round of head-banging. The title track, “Savage Nature”, continues with these production stylings and feeds the beasts of bass with an intense synth melody that sears its imprint into you.

“Dubbydo”, named after the triumphant yawl of everyone’s favorite crime fighting cartoon dog, Scooby Doo, marches hard with an arsenal of machine-gun and video game synth melodies. Rounding out the EP is “Creature”, and it’s loaded to the brim with filth. The sub-bass is sustained through the track, and the production techniques shift to allow for a much heavier foot-on-the-throat style.

Tracklisting for Savage Nature:

1. Eh!de & Obscenity – “Our Power”
2. Eh!de & Obscenity – “Savage Nature”
3. Eh!de & Obscenity – “Dubbydoo”
4. Eh!de & Obscenity – “Creature”

Firepower’s Flatline Vol. 1 http://firepowerrecords.com/firepowers-flatline-vol-1/ http://firepowerrecords.com/firepowers-flatline-vol-1/#comments Mon, 22 Dec 2014 15:44:49 +0000 http://firepowerrecords.com/?p=1270 fpr_flatline_ep_vol1_art_dft10_1400px

Pre-Order Flatline Vol. 1 on iTunes Here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/flatline-vol.-1-ep/id950820313

(Los Angeles) December 22nd There’s a maxim we throw around the Firepower Records headquarters: There’s no such thing as too much Firepower.

So, what do you do when you have a surplus of sonic weaponry ready to go? You bundle it all together and light it up. And that’s exactly what we did with these four choice tracks from both new and established members of the Firepower Family. This collection exhibits our desire for the deeper, minimal, and more underground sounds, and it challenges listeners to think twice about entrenching so hard in any particular part of the Dubstep spectrum.

With a strong showing on Firepower Records with his release of Living Dead earlier this summer, Jphelpz is back with a sound that shows an immense amount of growth in his artistic taste. More of a minimal approach to Dubstep production, Jphelpz’ track “Takeover” shows a mind sharpening itself. This track cuts deep.

Phiso, Aweminus, Acting Damage, and Ripple team up with “Four Horsemen” , a murderous take on what the Apocalypse would sound like if there were a soundtrack. With slicing synths that seem to scratch and crawl through the braincase, the track is balanced with a modest rolling beat. This track is not for the weak.

Obscenity and EH!DE squad up for “First Blood”, an initially playful tune that turns quickly to the sinister side. The production elements unique to both artists come through clearly in the track, and the final product points to a successful collaboration.

Rounding out the track list is Ajapai and Mayhem’s “Get it Together”. This unique collaboration brings together two dance music philosophies that are as different as they get, but when welded together we are the beneficiaries of a monster tune that wreaks havoc on the sensibilities of Genre purists. Do not expect a run-of-the-mill Trap tune. As soon as you get comfy with the style Mayhem and Ajapai have established, they switch it up. It’s this diversity in sound production that makes the track so hot.

The tracklisting for Flatine Vol. 1 is:

1. Jphelpz – “Takeover”
2. Phiso, Aweminus, Acting Damage & Ripple – “Four Horsemen”
3. Obscenity & EH!DE – “First Blood”
4. Ajapai & Mayhem – “Get It Together”
